about

This is my deepest dive on ambient music so far. It was written and recorded in the early autumn 2019, thus the name Syksy (fall).

The only instrument used in the album is Korg DW8000, an analog-digital hybrid from the late 80's. Naturally, some effects have been used, as well as Squarp Pyramid sequencer in part 2 where I experimented with the generative music concept. The unit that was used in the album has toured the world with a Big Name Band, and seen more venues and studios than I'll ever do. And I think this won't be the best selling album it appears on. The outputs are hissy and amp envelope of one of the voices generates occasionally audible snap and pop, but I think it is part of the character rather than a fault. But no radical equalization or compression this time during mastering to keep the noise in tolerable level.
